Perspective is a very important element when we are considering what is and what is not a writing construct. Perspective in the sense of being a writing construct is the writer's form, word choice, prior knowledge, and their understanding of a topic. Depending on what a person's environment and past experiences are can really have an affect on how they construct their writing. School is one aspect that changes someone's writing style because students perspectives, or past experiences, will determine how they write so that they get the grade that they want.
Throughout all of the school year's that i have been through i really have never felt like writing in English class or any other class was really how I like to write. When writing for class I have always felt like I have to write very proper with good word choice and excellent sentence structure. My senior year of high school i had a teacher who wanted my class to start getting use to a harder style of writing because she believed she was helping us prepare for college. She gave us a list of rules that we had to follow and she also gave us a list of words that she considered "not allowed" in our writing. Because of this, I felt like i couldn't write how i felt like I could write best. I felt that because of these rules i couldn't write to my full potential. After getting my paper was graded and returned to me i looked over all of my "errors" and many of them were not exactly bad errors but they were errors that broke her rules of writing. I thought this was unfair because writing is suppose to be unique to the person that is writing and she was telling me what was right and wrong, so she was using her own definition of error. My teacher was able to tell me what words were not okay to use which was limiting how much i could connect to what i was writing. Perspective is one form of writing construct that has many forms and meanings. Someone who has never written for a class in school would have a much more different writing style than someone who has been writing in school since they were very young. Perspective also will determine how you analyze writings. Some people will be able to connect to what the author is saying more than someone who has less experience with the subject.
Perspective is one element of writing construct that has no real concrete meaning because to everyone it can mean something completely different. The same could be said for writing constructs in general because everyone has a distinct form of writing that can not be right or wrong. Someone that lives around here would have a completely different writing than someone who lives half way around the world because they are completely different environments and past experiences. When studying writing and its constructs it would be very helpful and smart to consider what the author knows and what their background is.
